RAMPING UP FOR THE ON RAMP

Two weeks from today we depart on what will be the grand tour for Andrea's 50th birthday. Getting down to the nitty gritty of trip planning. Much of the broad strokes have been painted. Now it's down to filling in the white space and dotting points on the canvas. All air and train travel has been booked. All hotels are reserved. Cell phone has been ordered (UK phone number to be posted later. It will be used only for emergencies, as calls are $.79/minute.)
Blog in place (but much to learn yet, especially using the iPad which will be our primary communication tool.) This blog will serve as our travel diary for the May 15 - June 12 adventure. Still on the To Do List: purchase Euros, schedule transpo to O'Hare, forward Terrapin Station mail to Nall Court, arrange home oversight, set up Terrapin for summer renters, and organize packing. (Andrea bought a very nice, but very small suitcase today. While I have recommended taking less than what is needed, this bag may actually be TOO small for her!)
